Get ready for an amazing tour in Paris: AR Integrated Teaching Material!

Yes, my dear readers, I am here again with another wonderful material! I know you are looking forward to me.😍 This week we're going to talk about a completely different material where you're going to say to technology, "No more, that's all!😲" These are augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). But first, as we always do, let me begin by explaining to you what these two terms mean. While AR supports virtual reality, VR replaces your vision. AR makes real-life interactive, while VR offers a completely different experience from real life. With VR, you live in a completely virtual universe independent of real life. Augmented reality blends digital content with the real world using your device. Unlike virtual reality (VR), it does not require headsets, glasses, or other equipment. For augmented reality, your device's camera and an AR app are all it takes.

Yes, now that we understand these two wonderful concepts that technology has provided us, we can move on to the part of how to integrate them into language education. Exploratory learning is a method that provides better understanding by encouraging student learning and motivation, and with the discovery of these two technologies, we can contribute to students' learning by enabling them to discover places and things that they have not experienced before. This is exactly what we aimed for in this material, and by using these technologies, we enabled students to travel through technology to cities they had perhaps never seen before.

Although it is a virtual trip, we have prepared handouts to guide them. For this material, we worked with my dear friend Aygül and we chose Paris, the capital of France, where we both wanted to go, as a city for our students to explore. In our handouts, we have added photos of important points representing Paris, as well as 360' videos that students can access by scanning the QR code. After watching the videos and feeling the city, we prepared questions that they can answer. Finally, I think that such materials will attract the attention of the students to a great extent. Therefore, as a future teacher candidate, I would like to include such materials in my lessons. I hope you like this little virtual trip we prepared together with Aygül. See you next week, I love you!👀❤
