Get ready to party: Flipped-teaching material!

Hello to all of you, my dear readers, with a new week and new material! This week I will tell you about our adventure of preparing flipped-teaching material. But before that, I would like to inform you about what flipped teaching is. Flipped teaching is a training method that brings a contrary perspective to the teaching and homework approach we are accustomed to. As we all know, in the traditional method, we work on the subject during the lesson and then we do our homework on that subject at home. On the other hand, in the flipped teaching model, while students learn a new subject related to the lesson at home through online videos or tools provided by the teachers, it is assumed that they know the subject when they come to the lesson, and it is aimed to reinforce that subject in collaboration, discussions, and projects. Moreover, if we take a look at the benefits of flipped teaching, it can help students explore their own learning, and increase student-teacher interaction as there is not much time spent on lectures.

After learning what flipped teaching is, it's our turn to prepare this material. Together with my dear friend Aygül, we decided to prepare material by making use of the "Party Time" unit in the 5th-grade preparatory book. In our video, we featured a mother voiced by Aygül and a little girl voiced by me. We aimed to provide students with the words related to the party unit in a fun way by talking about the adventure of preparing a 5-year-old birthday party for Emma, the daughter of Jane, who is a mother. Preparing our video was a very fun yet challenging process. In this process, we made use of the Animaker tool, which offers many character painting possibilities. There were times that drove us mad, but I think we prepared our material properly. A very colorful and entertaining video has emerged that will attract the attention of students. I'm sure you will like it too, have a good time. You can watch the video we prepared here:

We have also prepared an anagram game for learners to reinforce the words we teach in the video. You can also find it here:
